Sexual Reproduction Health Project is made up of consortium Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM), Burnet Institute, Igat Hope and Catholic Church Health Services who is the lead. This project is supported through PNG Partnership Fund from Australian Government.
The initial Sexual Reproduction Health Project was in 2017 with the consortium arrangements with Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM), Burnet Institute, Igat Hope and Anglicare PNG.
In this second phase with complimentary skillsets from Consortium Partners we are delivering results across four outcome areas, to strengthen systems, services, partnerships and engagements in communities.
This project enhance the contribution of CCHS to the PNG National Health Plan 2021 to 2030 objective of strengthened primary health care for all, and improved service delivery for the rural majority and urban disadvantages.
SRHIP (II) Project Goal
Delivery of quality scaled SRH services through strengthened systems, strengthened services, strengthened partnerships and strengthened engagement at identified CCHS health facilities.
Long Term Outcomes:
1. Strengthened integrated systems for management, monitoring and evaluation of high performing (effective and efficient) projects and services
2. Strengthened integrated services providing high-quality HIV and sexual health care
3. Strengthened partnerships supporting a harmonized national and provincial HIV & Sexual health response
4. Strengthened engagement with community and key populations promoting universal access to quality HIV and sexual health services
The SRHIP Project activities also support the PNG National STI and HIV strategy 2018 to 2022 across strategic directions 1, 2, and 3. Through the SRHIP COVID-19 Support Plan activities and CCHS participant in the national health cluster, the project is directly aligned and contributing to the PNG COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan.
Integration of HIV and other Health Services
Effective communication and reporting on refurbishments, renovations to building, trainings of staff, team building exercises.
Team Building
Team building is an essential part of integration as transitioning from standalone facilities to integrated sites a team player is an enabler or catalyst to work with these groups, clinical staffs and HIV Staffs to improve services for people living with HIV.
CCHS National Health Plan
Through SRHIP the CCHS National Health Plan is being developed originating from the PNG National Health Plans currently being developed. In its development stages DHSIO will contribute ideas to ensure both plans are provide realistic and achievable objectives.
